Warm-hearted and quietly addictive, this feel-good comedy turned an English football club and its leafy hometown into a place fans genuinely want to belong to. Its gentle optimism gave a very real London suburb an outsized fame, and visiting it has become a small ritual for devotees.
The team's world is Richmond, a green and gracious suburb of London on the Thames.
