The richest seam runs through Bath, in England, whose honey-coloured stone stands in for fashionable Regency London. The sweeping curve of the Royal Crescent appears as a society address, while the grand facade of the Holburne Museum, at the head of one of the city's finest streets, plays the exterior of a leading character's house. Over in Greenwich, the red-brick Georgian villa of Ranger's House, on the edge of Greenwich Park, is the exterior of the central family's townhouse.

The two destinations make an easy pairing. Bath is a compact, walkable city you can cover on foot in a day or two, and Greenwich sits within reach of central London for a half-day outing.
