Filming Bridgerton: locations and how to visit
All silk, scandal and candlelit ballrooms, this Regency romance dresses its world in such lavish period detail that fans naturally want to walk through it. The clever twist for set-jetters is that much of its glittering 'London' was filmed elsewhere, in genuine Georgian streets and grand houses you can stroll straight up to.
The richest seam runs through Bath, in England, whose honey-coloured stone stands in for fashionable Regency London. The sweeping curve of the Royal Crescent appears as a society address, while the grand facade of the Holburne Museum, at the head of one of the city's finest streets, plays the exterior of a leading character's house. Over in Greenwich, the red-brick Georgian villa of Ranger's House, on the edge of Greenwich Park, is the exterior of the central family's townhouse.
The two destinations make an easy pairing. Bath is a compact, walkable city you can cover on foot in a day or two, and Greenwich sits within reach of central London for a half-day outing. Several of the houses are working museums or heritage sites with their own opening hours and ticketing, so check ahead, and consider a costumed walking tour in Bath to lean fully into the fantasy.
